SUMMARY. We had the opportunity to take part in the German-Senegalese Business Day in Berlin and to engage in discussions with representatives from the worlds of business, development cooperation, politics and civil society. Thank you once again for the invitation and the fascinating insights.

Particularly interesting for us obviously was the agriculture working group . There was an in-depth discussion on how to improve food security, create added value and develop opportunities for young people in Senegal.
An opportunity for young people
We are convinced that regenerative agriculture, agroforestry and food forests can be an important part of this solution. Rather than relying solely on the further industrialisation of agriculture, we see great potential in diverse, regenerative and knowledge-intensive systems. They improve soil health and biodiversity, increase resilience to climate change and, at the same time, create skilled jobs – particularly for young people.
Sharing knowledge: projects in Senegal and Germany
Through our projects in Germany and Senegal, we are already working together with students, universities and local partners on precisely these issues. Research, knowledge transfer, professional development, the reduction of post-harvest losses and the intelligent scaling up of regenerative approaches are, for us, key building blocks of sustainable development.
Inspiring discussions
We were particularly delighted by the many inspiring discussions, including those with GIZ and other potential cooperation partners. We hope that these will lead to concrete joint projects.
The challenges are considerable. This makes it all the more important to bring together different perspectives and work on solutions together. We look forward to continuing this dialogue.
